    Welcome to our very first addition of Colour Mill Creator Close-up! A series where we highlight the amazing work of and chat all things baking, decorating and Colour Mill with a creator from the Colour Mill community!

    Up first, we're very pleased to introduce you (most of you probably already know her!) to the amazing Jun-Ni from The Sugar Cookie Box.

    Jun-Ni is a master of creating beautifully decorated Fondant Sugar Cookies for all occasions with out-of-this-world colour schemes.

    Hi Jun-Ni! Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started in the baking and decorating world?

    "Hi! I'm Jun-Ni, cookie creator behind The Sugar Cookie Box."

    "I am a Mum of 4 and during COVID, while I was on maternity leave, I started baking and decorating cookies that we would drop off at my kid's friend's houses for Zoom birthday parties."

    "Word of mouth spread and I started getting requests from other Mums. Shortly after, I registered my kitchen and started my little business!

    "I felt so privleged the people wanted to send my cookies to loved ones to celebrate special occasions, or even just as happy mail to cheer their friends up during lockdown."

    Putting a face to the name! Meet Jun-Ni.

    "Since returning to work, this has now turned into my creative outlet (I love it too much to give it up!) I'm passionate about helping other home bakers. I recently ran a workshop which I absolutely loved teaching so I'm hoping to run more in the future."

    I'm currently learning how to pipe and decorate cakes and cupcakes. It's something I've always been wanting to learn and I'm so excited to begin this journey!"

    What advice would you give to someone starting out in baking and decorating?

    "Firstly, practice, practice, practice! Try new and different styles and techniques to find what you like, then develop your own creative style."

    "Secondly, never stop learning! There are so many resources, classes and online tutorials available to us and always something new to learn or even refine an existing skill."

    What's your favourite cookie designing tip?

    "I love to embellish my cookies, mainly with silicone moulds and sprinkles, I also hand paint occasionally. I think these additional touches can really take your cookies to the next level."

    What are 3 words you would use to describe your decorating style?

    "Fun, creative and decorative!"
